You're right, it was a big day out  Not even time for the excellent food at the Hotel Weisshorn.
I'm surprised that you chose to do this when the days are so short.

I'm not surprised that you wanted to escape from the crowds, the Immoblog has a short entry for Grimentz for Sunday, entitled...."Full".

Looks very peaceful ise.

So, did the Securitas people from St Luc follow you up, and insist on "controle" for your lift tickets :D

Many moons ago, I briefly used a pair of Salomon Equipe 9000 1S in 203. They were a bit quick.....and long, after my 190's
Snowcheeks, have you tried a comparable modern ski to judge the difference?

I think I have a couple of pairs of straight skis if you want to add to your collection. Both K2's. Some TRC's and the original Extremes, both in 190.

Thermals Advice Please !

borischelski wrote:Hi there

I am taking my family to Saas Fee in Feburary for our first trip and i am confused as to the best type of thermals to buy.

Our girls are 11 and 8 years old.

My freind recommended Helly Hanson Sport thermals but they seem pretty expensive ?

Please can someone recommend me a "best" and also a "budget" option ?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Regards

Welcome to J2ski :D Thermals are pretty important items of clothing, and inferior kit can ruin anyones' enjoyment of their holiday. Best kit is reckoned to be Icebreaker. Mid range is HH. Budget option is Trespass/Dare2B/Aldi etc.

If you are after a bargain, especially with growing children, and are in the UK, get along to a TK Maxx soon. I picked up some Falke thermals from there recently, for one third of the full retail price.

shuggie Welcome to j2ski :D

I've not seen to Sauze for many years, and these days I'm always in Switzerland, but I have picked up on other skiers mentioning that hire cars from Italian airports don't generally seem to be equipped with winter tyres, and also folks have had problems hiring chains from the car rental agencies. May not be all Italian airports though.

That's true if you can take multiple pairs of skis. If you can't and you end up with no powder, icey moguls, but great corderoy, and all you have with you is a pair of skis set up for powder, you might as well rent skis for the week.

Trencher, we're european skiers. We ski everything on anything :D

Here's a good example, ise, well off piste in spring snow, usig his Stockli Laser SC Masters' slalom skis....

He had a good time :D
