If you have one of these Avalanche Transceivers, and you hadn't spotted our News Item on this - you should read it.
Seems the batteries can come loose if the unit is thrown about a bit; ortovox have issued a free replacement battery compartment cover to rectify the problem, and you can apply for one at their web site. |
We've updated our Bansk Ski Resort Page with your information... thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time to post that Linda - we will update our Page for Bansko with your info shortly. We will also be refreshing our Resort Pages generally to encourage contributions from those who know...
So if you're reading this and you know a Ski Resort well - please don't hold back! Thank you! 8) |
Recommend eBay - you might luck out on the less popular models but there seem to be a lot of skiers active there. I've sold a couple of pairs of skis and a snowboard there in the past and got fair-to-excellent prices for all.
If you go that route, it might be worth waiting another month or so for the weather to turn colder. |
Although it's banned in France, I believe it's possible to arrange heli-skiing in La Rosiere - by skiing over the border to meet the helicopter and then being lifted on the Italian side.
Has anyone done this? Recommendations for good/best routes for some first-time heli-skiers (mixed group but all strong intermediates or above and all fairly confident off-piste)? Any info much appreciated. Thanks. |
Wow... what a place... looks fantastic! !amazed

Morgins is part of the Portes du Soleil circuit; 14 linked resorts with a huge range of skiing. Avoriaz, in particular, is brilliant for boarding and your pals/family will probably appreciate the novelty of "skiing to France and back"! Avoriaz has a World Cup run (Black) and the famous Swiss Wall if you need a real challenge, and there is good off-piste terrain for most ability levels also.
I reckon there are worse places to be! B) |
