Pabs suggest keeping an eye on Sport Conrad, as in addition to their sale, they also unload their Test Range each spring.
All sorts of gear, sold as used, really cheap. I last purchased some BD Touring Poles from them, little more than half price, with the price tag still attached.

mmm.. well I can guarantee I won't be on new skis or boots (unless I break them), I've a new transceiver but that's all.

Well, I've both seen and read about you breaking boots and skis, and you broke your transceiver IIRC?

And I think it was you that advised me to "tread lightly" or something similar

Hmmmm :D

Have you got a link for Cotswold Camping please?

I think that Pabs has done a sterling job of explaining skins

amanda here's a link to the Fritschi site, which has some little moving diagrams on the right hand side, click on the title bars. It will explain how it's possible to walk uphill whilst still keeping your bindings fastened.

I really don't think you need any skis, you seem to have a new pair every time I see you.

ise, it's really simple....

1. Some women collect shoes and handbags, but not me :D :D

2. Clearly you don't see me often enough, and we just happen to meet up when I have a new pair, it's just coincidence

Shuttling between Spain and Switzerland. Bit of hiking in both I expect, some DIY and a bit of decorating to be done

For decent bootfitting (not good salesmanship), I think your choices are:

http://www.solutions4feet.com/ ... I think cem is away at the SIGB event in Bormio ATM

http://www.lockwoods.com/... work closely with cem

http://profeet.co.uk/ Do have good fitters, but insist they work properly on your fit, and not to their booking schedule
