Chamonix ski rental

Hi Silver,

We (j2ski) are partnered with SkiSet, who can arrange ski hire in several shops in Chamonix and Argentiere (whichever suits you best). We wouldn't work with them if they didn't provide, as a rule, the level of service you're looking for.

They will almost certainly be able to change your skis mid-week for you, the only possible restriction might be that it will be a busy week - so some of the models you want may be unavailable at times.

You can pre-book ski hire (via this link), for a discount of at least 20% off the walk-in price, at any of these locations :-

* L'Aiguille du Midi Pro Shop
* SkiSet Chamonix Sud
* SkiSet Ginabelle
* Hotels Mercure (Centre and Bossons)
* Grand Montets

Being Chamonix, you can be pretty sure there will be some English-speakers in the shops.

Hope that helps,
who's got the answer ?

Outspoken is fine - just be cool. 8)

For something as emotive as global warming you're going to find a range of strongly-held opinion in any "random" sample of people.

Unfortunately, as Ross succinctly observes - none of us have the answer; we simply don't know.

Going back to the observations of the original poster - last year's late snows were proclaimed by some as proof of man-made global warming; this year's early snows are seen by others to prove the opposite. In truth, neither view is right - we had dry winters long before the present global warming began, and we'll continue to see occasional severe winters for a long time yet.

Personally, I agree with a lot of what you say - the thousands of scientists whose work contributes to the IPCC cannot be ignored. But the obvious and cynical agendas of our various politicians pollute the arguments on all sides.

Excellent! I'm so glad you've volunteered to video yourself doing that exercise for us... perhaps while simultaneously performing the famed "office chair" trick previously discussed on this forum... go on, you know you want to... :lol:

Tough call... both Geneva and Zurich have easy access into the (brilliant) Swiss railway system - which might be a big plus for you (Verbier or Zermatt are easy by train). Innsbruck is, of course, a city in its own right with good transport...

:oops: apologies for that glitch there; now fixed.

Our Snow Report for Alpe d'Huez now shows 120cm at the top and 60cm at the bottom. 8)

I'm with you there... and I'd hazard a guess that Mr CDP of this parish might join us. Optimum Ski in Villaroger taught us to ski proper-like quite a few <cough> years ago... good memories and one great run - although it is somewhat tamer toward the bottom than it once was.
Simple really - this is for individuals to advertise their own surplus or redundant snowsports gear.

Nothing else please; business owners looking to advertise should use the cunningly labelled Advertise On J2Ski link..
