J2ski offers discounts on ski hire...look left <<<<<<<<
I believe Ryanair are probably the worst european airline for DIY skier holidays. Low paid for baggage allowance, low hand baggage allowance, expensive ski carriage and a poor record for customer service when things go wrong.

So there!

Ian, where do you buy your wax from? Ski shop prices seem to be a tad heavy,

Got my last lot from these folks:

A manslaughter investigation has been launched by the French Prosecutor, following the death of the skier who was rescued in cardiac arrest.

Pistehors has more details:

It's worth checking to see if your primary Travel Insurance policy will cover you for costs associated with an injury, when they don't insure that risk.

Imagine your scenario:

Fall over just off piste and get recovered by piste patrol using your Carte Neige (or similar)

Your EHIC covers the treatment you receive in Hospital (mostly)

Your insurer (in this scenario) does not cover skiing off piste.

You need 3 seats on the aircraft home, so you can put your poorly leg up, will your insurer cough up, since this is a cost associated with the aftermath of something they don't cover?

I've not tested this out (thankfully). Anyone with experience?

Dainese make fairly slimline ones, with soft protection panels.

This snow has fallen quickly, and more is due to come. It won't have had time to settle, let alone bind together.

Powder Fever will be easy to catch, but how many folks will stop and assess the slope they want to ski?

Sadly prophetic bandit

Tony, heavy snow and weather conditions, plus impatient folks with no knowledge or training in recognising the danger. I'm not much of a Prophet.
