The Freemotion Ski Boot

The rocker/camber skis certainly make a soft (construction and flex) ski boot more viable. I know that those Palmer skis positively don't like the kind of input a very stiff ski boot can give. It may be that this time around the soft shell boot would work. I think the problem will be convincing the expert testers who are used to a stiffer boot that this is real option even for very experienced skiers if matched with a modern ski.

Ski Fitness - 4 weeks to go post op

My wife had the same op last season and skied about six weeks later. I would echo Skiaskidoo's advice. It's amazing what you can do with some light weights, some kind of balance thingy, and a mat.

Thank you for such a detailed post, that really makes a lot of sense. I will give serious thought to taking the poles way next time we go skiing, she does tend to drag them behind herself.
you are also correct about her being to far back, her mum does the same, i shout lean forward but i get ignored.

Thanks again, i will take your advice and put it in to practice next time.

That was good advice. Lean forward is maybe a term to be avoided though. A good drill to do with kids (or anyone for that matter) is at the start of every run, put your hands on your hips, move the hips forward over the knees. Feel the pressure of shins against boot tongues (and weight on the balls of your feet) and try to keep it there. A little trick that works for kids is to tell them to pretend there is a one pound coin at the top of their boot tongue. If they don't keep pressing their shins forward, it will fall into the boot and be lost. Tell her at the end of the day if it looks like she was trying to keep the coin up, it will be hers.

Alex, get used to forums. This is actually one of the nicer forums on the net. People feel free to chat about topics, without being called out for their lack of knowledge, or views. Saying people look like dicks is not a way to get your business done. I completed the questionnaire, but also wanted to comment, by way of general discussion. I would edit your post at the earliest opportunity.

I had forgotten about Apex boots. I did try using some Nordica (I think) soft boots several years ago, but they booted out if you tipped the skis just a little. Now skis are much wider, the width of those boots might not be such a problem.
I thought most of their responses on FB have been well thought out and quite professional (tweeting may be another matter). As for vindictive, I would be too. Remember that they are just kids and of course they are enjoying their 15mins of fame. I think the whole thing was fading away, but they justifiably feel the need to defend themselves when being blamed for a situation they did not create.
