Looking at poperty there, and know it's linked to Les Arcs etc...
Anyone stayed there, and what are the links like ?? Thanks Glenn. |
Sorry, i know nothing of the resort... I don't think there is a minimum depth as such, but i wouldn't like to board on anything less than about 20cm. the depth is not an exact figure, just an average, which means it could be 5-10cm either way, so if you only have 10cm to satart with, do the maths.... if only 10cm, you may feel any rocks or stones though the snow when you carve, which will bugger the bottom of your board... Beginners slopes tend to be more gentle and on grass, so this won't be so much of a problem, but higher, and steeper slopes would be less than ideal... G. |
Good size resorts have Leisure centres with a Gym etc...
Val Thorens and Les Menuires have one... G. |
Only if you're using a hire board !!!! That's really barely enough snow for anything other than beginners slopes... |
a bit of a sweeping statement me thinks..... Indeed, the skiig is great, but it's blooming frezzing, and expensive to eat out (if you can get in anywhere) G. |
I have bought a couple of appartments in bansko, which are due for completion shortly... Not sure when/if i will ever use them myself, as their main purpose is for investment. I think it will be a few more years of investment before Bansko will start competing with the more established places in europe, as i don't think there is enough Piste to keep am intermediate-advance skier interested for more than a few days.... When in Dec, as not all resorts will have great snow cover....
Val Thorens will be poss the best place for early skiing in France due to it's high altitude... I know at least one very nice restaurant there too. About 2.5 hours by car from Lyon, a little more from Geneva. G. |
LOL, Where did you stay in Les menuires, and what do you think of the place ??? G. |
