Hi Guys
Many thanks for the replies I have already been to that site andorramania it is very descriptive. So let me get this right, you guys are saying that there is 1 ski pass for both regions but you cannot ski from one to the other, you would have to take a car or bus to get from one to the other because of the big distance. Is there not a chairlift that can take you to the other region. And your saying to make it to the other region it is a 45 minute (with traffic) bus or car ride. I don't understand why can't you ski it, i can ski for several hours without taking a break. It would be better than a car ride. Also i don't think i would ski vallnord, i am quite an experienced skier so i think straight to grand valira for me. all suggestions most welcome Thanks guys |
Hi Guys
I have a an apartment in Calpe Spain which is about 75 miles from Alicante airport. I plan on driving up to Andorra, I went on to multimap for directions and i typed in from Calpe to Andorra la vella and it says it's 238 miles. Now i don't mind driving and i would be happy to drive that distance. I would like to get a ski pass that would allow me to ski to all regions of Andorra. I read that grand valira is the main resort with 193 Km of pistes. Then for 2007 they also have another 57 Km going into France which bring the skiable area to 250 Km. Then i read with Vallnord that's another 95 Km bringing the ski area now to 345 Km of pistes. Which makes it a mega resort. I would like to stay in Soldeu but i hear once getting into Andorra i would have to drive several hours more to get to Soldeu, is this true? You see what i like mainly about Soldue is the magnifiecent hotel called the sport hotel hermitage which is 5 stars and has the new wellness spa. But then i heard of the Caldea Thermoludic Centre, i can't seem to find where this centre is located in andorra, do you guys know. I simply would like to stay at a hotel or apartment that is situated on a piste or at the bottom of the piste by a gondola so i can ski in and out. And then located within walking distance to the Caldea Thermoludic Centre, and also able to ski up to soldeu all with 1 ski pass that covers all the areas i have given above. I read that this site has a new ski pass for winter 2007/2008 that allows you to ski all areas, vall nord and gran valira it costs 175 euros for 5 days. you can read about it here http://www.skiandorra.ad/2006/ing/index.html Can anybody please help me out with my questions Much appreciated Thanks in advance |
Hi thanks for the reply
Is the portes du soleil alot easier to get around the 615 km of pistes? I won't have to take as much lifts as i have to do with going from nendaz to verbier right? thanks in advance |
Hi powderhound
Many thanks for your reply You say that 4 vallees and pds are not that far apart Do you know how many KM apart they are? Maybe i will have to drive up there thanks in advance |
Hi guys
Nendaz and verbier is in the 4 vallees switzerland with a ski pass for the whole region of the 4 vallees you can ski to verbier. Do you guys know how long it will take to ski from Nendaz to Verbier? How many ski lifts will you have to take to get there? What kind of ski lifts chair or drag? If you could help me on this Much appreciated Many thanks |
Hi guys,
It's come a time in my life when finally i have decided to buy myself a chalet I am looking in Verbier because it's in the 4 vallees giving 412km of pistes. I then have the advantage of skiing to the 8 different resorts of the 4 vallees, like Nendaz which i really like. Then i am thinking of Morgins or champery in the portes du soleil or other resorts but staying in the swiss part of the portes du soleil. The thing i really like about the the 4 vallees is that the highest peak is 3300m where as the portes du soleil is 2500m and 615km of pistes. The 4 vallees has guarenteed snow during the winter months. because of how high you are, and because of the glacier at mont fort in the 4 vallees you have all year round skiing which is what i really like. But i don't believe this is the case for portes du soleil because of the highest peak being at 2500m. The 4 vallees is superb for expert skiers, i am not quite sure about the portes du soleil. But in the portes du soleil the extra 215km of pistes compared to 4 vallees is really something which makes up for the lack of having a very high peak mountain. I like the 4 valles also because as i am from the UK i can take a chatered flight straight to Sion airport and then it's a 20 minute journey to the 4 valleys. How far is the airport journey to a resort like morgins in portes du soleil? What are your views guys? I have also noticed that the portes du soeil is far better value for money compared to the 4 vallees. any help much appreciated Many many thanks |
