Good point Mr W. However...

The one thing that turns me off the whole Austrian experience is that they struggle with resort level snow.

I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

You have to look at the bigger picture ,,,,,, yes it does snow but cover in most low Austrian lying resorts can become poor when the temps rise.

France is expensive but you can manage that by resort selection it does not have to be wallet busting experience, but I suppose my favourite place to ski would be Italy, nice people, excellent food and normally excellent snow.
Remember just because someone disagrees with your opinion does not mean they are winding you up
GPWM Ian, as usual.
You can make any country as expensive as you want, and like Ian I always try to make my trips as economical as possible.
It is a fact that with everything taken into account, generally France is more expensive.
I agree about Italy, as I have spent many summers there, but only skied a couple of resorts, so I want to do more of them personally.

We all like some good banter, but behind it lies the fact that Ian has been going to France a lot, and likes it a lot, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Now then, where did we get to on the decision re the Austrian resort to be chosen?
