Bus up or down the valley can sort this out - down being preferable, but I wouldn't recommend coming back via the Horbergbahn unless you like standing around in a car park for ages.

We are coming to Innsbruck in a few weeks and are only planning to see 3 days. We are buying the Glacier ski pass, and can choose from the 9 resorts offered. Any suggestions on which areas to ski if we only have 3 days? We are used to skiing blue runs in Colorado. Thanks

Zell am See, Kaprun or Mayhrhofen sounds good for 3 days

I dont see those names as options. We can ski: Nordpark-Seegrube, Pscherkofel, Axamer Lizum, Muterealm, Kuhatal, Rangger Kofl, Glugezer, Schlick 2000 and Stubai Glacier. We can also trade up for days at eiter Arlberg or Kitzbuhel.

We went to Alpbach for several years, its a really charming, unspoilt little village. The ski area is quite small, although there is a reasonable range of pistes, but not what I would call cruising. Its also quite low, so not so good if the snow is poor - 2007's bad winter finally sent us elsewhere.

We had a couple of great holidays in the Zillertal area, most recently staying at Hochkrimml. This is a tiny ski in/out hamlet at the top end of the Zillertal arena with its 'own' local mountain with half a dozen lovely blue and red cruisers. It also links to the rest of the zilly arena so plenty of miles available.

Both are within easy access of Innsbruck.

With children you probably want to avoid St Anton and Ischgl - very popular with noisy vomiting 18-30s so not the best place for a family trip.

So I'd say Obergurgl or Mayrhofen. Bad Gastein is lovely but probably compromises too far the other way in its evening activities - all theatre and classical music!

Easter is normally quite quiet around here.
There only seems to be waits of about 10min during the half-term hols...

I recommend Zauchensee / Flachau Winkl ski areas withing Ski Amadé. Massive long blues and reds. Flachau Winkl has excellent top to bottom family slopes plus parks and much more. Only 45 min from Salzburg... cheap on the mountain... and some pretty good accommodation out there (even if I do say so myself!)
