If the snow is poor in Zell and the neighbouring resorts, I think the crush at
Kaprun will be even worse :cry: We only visited Kaprun for one day, and went all the way up (past the midway station) to the top. I have a feeling that gondola is the only way up (I'm sure someone will correct me here). If so, it is likely to get crowded, especially if as I said the snow is poor elsewhere because people bus in from all the surrounding resorts, so I'd advise getting up early.
I'm quite sure there will be plenty of snow up on the glacier :D. As I understand it, the problem with the glacier isn't about the reliability of the snow, but that when it's very windy they shut the lifts, and even if they haven't shut all the lifts it's absolutely freezing up there because there's no shelter at the top. We checked the weather forecast before we left Zell and went there on a lovely sunny day with no wind, so conditions were fine.
