If you find a 'by the week' apartment you like ask for a full season let price then negotiate. It will be in their interest to fill it for the whole season without worrying about change overs etc.

What a marvellous idea! I wish someone would book our holiday cottages for the entire season, and I'd have Fridays and Saturdays off from cleaning!

I reckon it would be worth at least a 10% discount, maybe more depending on their usual occupancy rates.

I looked at a few agencies and the cheapest I could find was about 350 euros per week - but it wasn't a 'roomy' apartment - it was 25m squared. There are lots of agencies and I only checked a few.

I know where the ski instructors stay in Val Thorens - because there were two lots of them on the same floor as us. We were staying in a cheap 2 star apartment block. I expect this is the sort of place the other workers stay in as well. And I also saw some workers going home on the bus, with us, when we went back to Moutiers. They probably do a cheap seasonal pass on the bus. And I should think accommodation would be much cheaper in Moutiers.

I reckon that to secure an apartment big enough to live in for a season in Courchevel, a minimum budget of £10k should suffice. Add on utilities and local taxes. Anything under 45sqm is not really big enough to have living space. Aim for a property that is not on the Agencies holiday rental books, as it will be crammed with beds.
