Where to go??

If you are prered to go to Austria, I had my 30th in Zell am See, absolute party :twisted:

Les deux Alpes is a very high resort with a glacier so late skiing is rarely a problem. It also has good nightlife. The mountain itself is a bit all over the place but good variety of terrain to suit all levels.

Pas de la Casa (Andorra) has a killer nightlife. It's not as high and no glacier, but it usually has excellent late snow. The mountain is a bit more conventional valley-valley set-up.

Generally speaking late snow is more dependable than most people think. Because the seasons' snow has accumulated over the winter; there is a lot to melt. You may not get a champagne powder storm, but then as everybody knows you are lucky whenever they come.

One advantage of late skiing is the presence of spring in hte valleys and the possibilities of other activities i,e, walking, biking or just getting some much needed sun.

To be honest; it's your 30th and wherever you go you'll have a blast.

For nightlife, Austria is probably best (massive simplification but there you go :wink:.)

For snow at that time of your, you need to think high and/or glacier. Others have suggested a number of options. One I would highly recommend is St Anton - its high, its high quality and its fun.

For inexpensive: tricky - as a few have mentioned the tour operators price Easter as a peak week :cry:. To make matters worse, they generally stick you with Saturday to Saturday trips and will certainly not accommodate a trip that starts on say Thursday and ends on Tuesday. The answer: go independent. I did it a few years ago - got cheap flights with Swiss to Zurich, train to St Anton and got acommodation through the St Anton tourist office - it worked out quite reasonable. Finding accommodation can be tricky but if you are not too fussy, it should be possible to find something suitable (obviously this gets much more difficult the larger the group!). Generally speaking, the accommodation, including pensions, in Austrian resorts is of fairly good quality. :lol:

Thanks caron-a I don't think my old bones could cope with that after a hard day on the piste, I've never heard of any of those bands is that because I'm old ?
I'm thinking about moving my birthday this year to January 25th, so I can celebrate in the alps like the rest of you guys. :D
