I suppose this is fair !

And, Pavel, to be really fair ... if you by mistake do send Ellistine or myself hints via PM - I'm sure we wouldn't look at them !! Right? Ellistine...

Of course I would look at them!

My lack of skiing years are a handicap when trying to identify items, some of which are probably older than I am!

I get the impression from this photo that as soon as a ski reaches it's 'use by date', Pavel likes to cut it in half!

"Of course I would look at them!"

Thanks for a good laugh Ellistine !

Did you notice the item behind the Honeywell de-humidifier/heater in the lower right corner. I've been looking for one of those for years! Should have realized who would have had one !!

Ok, well as time is of the essence and according to my understanding of the rules as described if I am the first to name an item (and no one can be more specific) I get the points, I’d like to claim:

1. A single “Tyrolia Megadrive” ski estimated at 190cm [@~62% of picture width from left margin]
2. A single Salomon 502 Front binding (DIN setting @ ~ 9 I think) hanging to the right of the “Tyrolia Megadrive” [@~66% of picture width from left margin] Note: these had a slight tendancy to pre-release in Moguls or on icy race pistes!
3. A poster for Smugglers’ Notch, Vermont (any extra points for saying it’s in portrait format?) [from ~56% to 85% of picture width at extreme top of picture -on roof]
4. A “left”, 2006 Fischer RX9 180cm ski standing vertically [@~41.5% of picture width from left margin]
5. (Unusually a pair) of Salomon 9000 Monocoque skis without bindings (the 9000 comes from the Dupont company who developed the polymer known as Zytel which has a flex modulus of 9000 MNm-2)

I hope this will count towards my required number of “solutions”!

Pavel: If a “find” is wrong will you say so? Otherwise confusion may reign !

Regards

Jan

In relation to the fischer skis you could profess that it all started in 1924 when the company was founded by "Josef Fischer", the company originated from one on going at the time selling rack wagons, sleds and wooden skis. The first set of Fischer skis-as we know them today-was produced in 1934!

Not wanting points just looking to provide insight.

Pavel,

If we are allowed many answers I will begin with this one and proceed with additional replies when able.... if that's OK. I will not use the shot-gun on this quiz. This is more difficult than I imagined. Like Rossfra8 suggested, a larger picture would aid in the viewing.

I have broken this down into sections (geographical and logical) but this hasn't helped much. The geographical are places like ceiling, left wall, back wall, and right wall .. ect... My logical divisions are the things that are obvious and ... all the rest. True, not all that well subdivided!

However I begin (with a short reply);

Item # 1 : Poster showing the ski hils of "Ski MornHeights, "Mont Avila", "Jay Peaks", and Mont Saint-Sauveur along with one more that I am unable to make out. This item (poster) is on the ceiling at the left side

Item # 2: Poster on ceiling second from right, advertising "Smugglers' Notch" Vermont - "America's Famuily Resort" located at4323 Vermont Route 108 South.

Item # 3: Poster back wall advertising "Mont Sainte-Sauveur" resort located at 350 rue Saint-Denis
Saint-Sauveur, QC

Item # 4: Also on back wall about 5/8 of room width from left is a poster advertising Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont. The mirror is hanging just below the name "Stowe"

Item #5; Possibly simply stating "Ski and boot review chart" may cross the rule line but it is difficult to pick out a year or source of the chart ,... which is just right of the Stowe poster.

Item #6; Stowe Mountain Resort decal- left of the Mont Sainte-Sauveur poster and near the ceiling

Item #7; Sunday River decal (larger size) - right below the Stowe decal mentioned above,

Item #8; TAOS Ski Valley decal - beneath the Sunday River decal mentioned above

Item #9;, Item #10, Item #11: Cards which look like season passes (again maybe these entries don't have enough detail)

Item #12; Smaller Sunday River decal - beneath these cards

Item 13; Card similar, to Item #10 possibly a season pass for a different year - located below the smaller Sunday River decal

Item #14 Burshed aluminum (possibly magnetic)rooftop ski/snowbaord carrier - located in front of the Mont Sainte-Sauveur poster crossing out the word "best"

Item #15 Blue elastic band - usually used for holding ski brakes out of the way when tuning the skis -- located on the item above at the item's right end keeping it closed.

Item #16 Rubber/Plastic coated hook for holding ski related items - located about 6" from file cabinet
on left wall and about 4" from ceiling.

Item #17 The cabinet mentioned above which holds ski plugs and various screws and springs for the ski repair trade - located on the far left edge of the picture and near the back wall.

Item #18 The long spatula which no doubt has some ski related function -- located hanging from a nail left of the Stowe decal but right of the rubber coated hook.

Another installment followes at another time.

I bet there are more than 70 items in this picture !!!

So much for a short reply....

In addition to Pavel's task i am offering up a jar of the mythic "Scotch Mist", delivery to be paid by the winner-the first answer will be the accepted one-unless you are Welsh.

Here goes, what is my first name?
