3-4 times a week.
My cardio fitness has improved massively but I've put half a stone on in 3 months and my arms and legs are much stronger.
This for a bloke who never used a gym before!

Most impressive Tony :)

Ta. Seems like something that is easily home-made, rather than pay the amounts asked.

Ljb12, what level of skier are you? Are you just learning or have you done a couple of weeks or more?

I hate the gym, however I went to box-fit last night - holy mother of crap, what a work out! I'm so unfit, but 8 weeks of that and a bit of cycling in between and I'll be ready for the hills.

Worked my whole body, brilliant.

I think box fit is great exercise and have a half hour every week with a PT doing pad-work ..my admiration for boxers has risen exponentially.I usually do a few rounds against the punch-bag twice a week

My sister has skiers edge

Anyone tried one?
I've had a couple of goes and fallen off.
Not enough experience to say whether it's any good, but she rates it.

On the website an old news article

Telling how important it is to be fit - but I'm sure this applies to any strenuous sport.

I've been working put on a BOSU (taught by an amazing personal trainer who is also a ski instructor) for a few weeks in prep for skiing. as well as strength/stamina building it helps hugely with balance and core (squats, lunges, single leg balancing). I can't vouch for what difference it will make on the slopes but it feels as if it will be beneficial. I live in hope :)
