Why do you have to be an expert to use Spyder gear..... ? Couldn't disagree more.

You ski in what you can afford and feel good in. I personally don't like it at all, my choice is Haglofs however I don't think people Look daft in it if they can't ski.
Who cares what people think. If you can afford it then cool buy it and enjoy it. You will get there in the end and if you don't well hey at least you look good.... 8)

Todays winner of post of the day.

Well said. Like you, I dislike Spyder gear, intensely. But if this guy has bought it and feels good in it, fair play to him. Its important to feel good and thats achieved by looking good. (This is probably where Dave Mac comes in and tell us hes been wearing the same pair of holed sallos for 35 years, and has food stains all over his smock of a jacket....)

For me, I associate Spyder gear with pot bellied Germans, and I think for the price it doesn't look that good. But each to his own as I said. Main thing is matey feels good.

Haglofs stuff is fantastic, by the way.

Not sure how good 'matey' will feel after the above posts.

If it had been left at wear what you like and feel good in it I think enough would have been said. Personally.

Hopefully Philip will continue to post on this site.

Personally I never notice what anyone is wearing either on or off the ski slope. I mean, if they were wearing nothing then I probably would notice :D but any kind of ski gear looks fine to me on the slopes. And for myself I go for cheap, warm and comfortable, and I don't worry about what it looks like.

Anyway, I hope you have a great time on your ski holiday Philip, and welcome to J2Ski :D

I actually really like Spyder jackets, in fact of the two jackets I own one is a Spyder and believe it or not, I am neither a fat bellied German or 'Very, Very' good at skiing. Each to their own, if you like it Philip, good luck to you. Enjoy Saalbach, I went back in 2005 & it is a great place, suoerb long runs & fun Apres.

If you like dressing up then fine but assuming you are over 12 years old it probably is a bit strange to dress up in your ski gear. (Unless it has the desired effect on your other half ) )

Walk around in new boots to break them in would be pretty routine.
