Lexiloo ~ how about locking 2 or more pairs of skis together with the lock going around the middle of the bindings. Not easy pinching more than one pair of skis at a time I would have thought.
Should work unless someone is bombing round the mountain with some bolt cutters.
It's best to lock them up with skis belonging to people you know!

Have to say that in 15 years of organising trips of 20-45 skiers we've never had a problem and most of the resorts we visit are supposed to be high risk.
If you have brand new must have skis then locking is probably sensible (with a proper lock!), otherwise I'm not sure it's necessary.
