I'd be gutted to lose my K2 one luvs. They changed the spec after I bought mine - I just couldn't imagine skiing on anything else.

Nearly all US ski areas big and small have a ski check. Often this is free, though some charge a small fee. It's such a small overhead for a ski area, but such a huge convenience for skiers.
because I'm so inclined .....

Friend lost skis at Samoens 1600 whilst buying a hat and the ski locker next to ours in apartments door was broken down, that was in Morillon 1100 both what would be considered low risk resorts! you just dont know
Take precautions, however if somebody really wants them they will get them

The BBR is a pretty obvious ski and it won't take a tea-leaf long to locate them both... even if they're not watching you as you arrive.

I would've thought it'd be top of the list of skis to nick - definitely lock, or don't leave unattended.

I dont have BBR's. Mind you, my Neo's and my wifes K2's are pretty stand out with their coloured bases so maybe its not such a good idea

I think your 8000's are from 2005 Wickers. High time for a new pair, but what to replace them with? Difficult to find a lightweight ski with a tough topsheet/tough base/wood core that will do the all mountain stuff with ease.
