Indeed.
That's what happens when you don't read posts properly. I thought she was talking about her trip to Tignes when only a couple of glacier slopes were open.
Own goal

Thanks Andy :D

It sounds like a fun kind of thing to try and do, if the weather and snow conditions are good. And if we get held up a bit in the morning with sorting skis out etc. we can always cut the program slightly - like miss out researching the Panoramic restaurant by the Grande Motte glacier, because I've been up there lots of times.

I think the crucial timing in your itinerary is getting back from La Folie Douce (which is in the Val d'Isere ski area) to Val Claret (which is the Tignes ski area).

Presumably you're planning to do this via the Tommeuses chair lift. Last year that lift shut at 16-30 during January. So as long as we get there before it shuts at least we will be back in Tignes and able to get the free ski bus back to Les Boisses. (There are no free ski buses between Val d'Isere and Tignes).

But the next crucial bit of timing will be getting to Les Boisses in time to ski down to Les Brevieres before it gets dark. According to the website below, sunset in Tignes on Sunday 13th January will be at 17-12, and then it's about a minute later each day. I wonder how 'dark' it is when it's officially sunset?

Edit
I will have a look tonight, and see how dark it is at official sunset time, and see whether I reckon I could still ski :D

Edited 1 time. Last update at 01-Nov-2012

Andy, I did think of that, but I'm sure it's against all the rules - ski-ing in the dark with a torch, and I wouldn't be covered by insurance and I might well be hauled off by the gendarmes as your unofficial 'guide'
