Ian

Still not decided; won't be Adelboden as I couldn't get any suitable accommodation (Lenk remains a possibility though).

Mate of my brother's recounted a tale last week of being charged 18 Euros for three small bottles of water in Alpe d'Huez. That would have been a rip off before sterling's collapse - and is another reason why I'm unlikely ever to return to France for ski-ing.

In 2 weeks - to Auron. Short transfer time from Nice. Had a great weekend skiing there last year/ GOing for 5 days in March. Apres Ski is quite (its French! :-))
Anyone else been to Auron?

Val d'isere is my favourite resort in the world (so far) and as costly as it is, when we were there a couple of years ago we discovered a great place to lunch that did barbecues in good weather for a reasonable price. I'll need to dig out a map to remind myself of what it's called (unless someone knows off the top of their head) if you want to know! :)

Hi
I'm off to val d'isere in 22 days, after hearing some of the horror stories of 14 euro for a spag bol it would be good to know of the name of the place you mentioned.
Still wont let it spoil my holiday, can't wait

14 euros for spag bol in France is what I'd call a bargain. I'd buy two at that price.

I'm off to Tignes on the 4th of April... Can't wait! On-piste prices aren't too much of a bother for me - I'm a baguette man myself.

I will certainly be looking for the patisserie near the gondola in Villeneuve next week.
