Another concern is my mate is a begginer on the board and has never used tows... worried there wont be enough green runs and chairs for him!

I was up yesterday. The roads were fast and clear. I've done alot of days up there this year and I can't think of any days when at least one chairlift wasn't running for a fair part of the day. The sunny side chairlift drops you off at a nice easy run for a novice boarder. There is plenty of good powder on most runs and it shouldn't be too busy during the week. Tell your mate to just have a go at the tows. No shame in falling off. Just keep trying until he can do it. Have a good day tomorrow.
