As Pablo has already said, you are right that the snow cannot be guaranteed. However, it is more likely that the wind, rather than lack of snow, would ruin your week.

Just remember, a long weekend skiing in the Cairngorms in March will be much nicer that mowing the lawn in middle England. )

I'd suggest that whizzing down a piste in the alps is not something you would normally think of arranging two days before setting off.

Correct. Planning ahead is the secret. Which is why I have often thought about skiing a couple of days in Scotland, but never being able to do so. Ross will tell you - I was up in Feb but the conditions were dreadfully bad, ie melted and warm, nothing to actually ski on, so I had to give it a miss sadly.

When were you up in February? That's when we had the amazing snow. I skied 3 out of the 4 weekends in February, once at the Lecht and twice at Cairngorm and it was fantastic.
