Next week looks like freeze/thaw down to about 1700m (French Alps) and a little snow forecast.
Anyone know what temp. is needed to get the snow cannons working?
Once they can lay down some artificial to get a base things will look up as any new snow will lay better.

Snow cannons can make snow at any temp below zero (and even above), but it's not very efficient and the snow quality is poor. I think they generally wait until they have low temps and low humidity. With those conditions, they can pump out staggering amounts of snow. Unless of course it's just making a show to calm people's nerves.

The number of sleeps till our Verbier trip has reduced by one. I got confirmation of the flight times today. A 6am flight means leaving Norwich at about midnight so no sleep that night. (I'm not counting sleeping on the coach as technically you're on holiday then aren't you?)

Just booked w/c 5/2/12, so I make that 89 sleeps. Off to see what all the fuss is about with Baquiera-Beret.
