I'll try to remember where we ate in Tignes.

We stopped by Bar de L'Ouilette in Vad d'Isere most days. Lovely open view and outside decking area overlooking a frozen lake near the bottom of the green Madeleine run (probably the only real green run in VDI!)

Can get busy though.

Restaurant just under the top of the Tichot chair on the Palafour above Val Claret.
Don't ask me what it is called!!!
Excellent coffee and cakes, very good hot chocolate, delightful french lady owner/manager, clean and good toilets, wonderful sun terrace .......

Last time in Tignes was Club Med so no lunch stops and I do think that the Espace Killy is lacking in really nice up mountain restaurants.

But .....
Popping down into the villages is so easy for lunch that, unlike many resorts, this is a real option and does keep the price down considerably.

On a separate topic - my fingers are not in communication with my brain today!! Typing just not working!!!!! (and no it is not the morning after)

If you stick to the self service part of Le signal, prices are very reasonable. Good quality too.

I think we stopped there. Had very tasty cheese omelette and chips. Better than it sounds honestly. Reasonable value as well. Not too bothered about the prices - if the sun is shining and there is good skiing, I'm a happy camper!

This one is really well placed for the group as it's on the way back to Le Brevieres. Great for lunch, great for a late afternoon Vin Chaud.

I thought I'd start with this one because it's the closest mountain restaurant to Les Brevieres. I can remember ski-ing past it, and the view from there is fantastic!

Here is a photo of it taken from the website above:

To get there from Les Brevieres you go up the Sache gondola and then up the Aiguille rouge (red needle) chairlift. You then have to ski a short way down the red Bleuets piste to the restaurant. I am rather puzzled as to why they say there are 2 restaurants there - the Alpage and the Soli - but maybe they are just 2 parts of the same restaurant. I haven't been able to find a menu with prices, for the restaurant.

Edit
Further research suggests that the Alpage is self-service whilst Le Soli is the 'gastronomique' restaurant.

And to get down from there you can either ski down the red Bleuets into Le Lac, or go back down to Les Brevieres via the blue Rhododendron which flows into the blue Melezes and then into the blue Myrtilles.

Edit

Andyhull has reminded me that you can also ski down to Le Lac via blues from this restaurant, Rhododendron turning off right onto Petit Col.

And he says that Bleuets used to be a blue slope, it was reclassified as red in 2004 (looking through his collection of Espace Killy piste maps!).

As you can see from the piste map below, it's at the top of the Chaudannes chairlift which starts at the back (the lower side) of Le Lac.

If you click on the map it gets bigger. Les Brevieres is in the far lower right corner.
