Enjoy your trip everyone.

I stayed in that exact chalet a few years ago (also early January) and really enjoyed my time in Les Brev's. The management and staff really do everything to make you feel welcome, often socialising in the evening rather than disappearing off at night to do their own thing. Of course it depends on the team they have this year but I assume the general ethos will carry through. The food was excellent, bedrooms comfortable and always spotlessly clean, the hot tub great, views out over the valley/surrounding trees and the village itself is much smaller and quieter than the main accommodation areas further up mountain. If the weather is poor, the sheltered tree-lined routes that head into Les Brev and just perfect for low visibility days and much better than being up in Val Claret/ Le Lac etc where the masses will be based. The ski lift up was relatively quick and never busy.

Hi Apbtoski, thanks for that :D

It sounds like you had a really great time.

If anyone else wants to come with us, would you please send me a pm or post up on here.

Here are some rough costings for this holiday. The cost varies according to things like which flights you take, and which grade of skis you hire (noir with Intersport is the most expensive grade) and which shop you get them from.

Basic cost of the catered chalet Bonjour Bonjour = £399
Return flights from the U.K. to Geneva = £100
Return chalet transfers to and from Geneva = £60
Total = £559

Extras
Carriage of winter sports equipment with EasyJet = £50
Adult 6 day Tignes and Val d'Isere lift pass = 235 euros
6 afternoons ESF adult group lessons = 145 euros
6 days Intersport 'noir' ski and boot hire = 113 euros

Edit
Correction - 'noir' skis and boots can be hired with Intersport for 102 euros.

The photos below, of the slopes and the chalet, expand if you click on them.

I have some more pricing information on ski hire in Les Brevieres.

We have discovered that if you go into the Intersport website via this route, the 'noir' skis and boots are 11 euros cheaper, as they only cost 102 euros instead of 113 euros. At today's Visa currency conversion rate of 1.25 euros to the pound, 102 euros is the equivalent of £82:

http://www.intersport-rent-france.co.uk/FrontOffice/rent/page/station.aspx

There are 2 Intersport shops in Les Brevieres.

You can also hire skis and boots, or a snowboard, in the chalet from a company called Tignes Spirit Rentals. And they will meet up with you on the first day, at lunchtime, at a restaurant above Tignes Lavachet to check that there are no problems with their gear. The chalet ski hosts will take the groups to this meeting point.

Their hire prices are as follows:
Silver = £75
Gold = £85
Platinum = £95

They say that these prices are according to the quality of the skis and boots, not the ability level of the skier. So, even a beginner could hire platinum quality - but it would probably be a waste of money! Usually, beginners hire silver, intermediates gold, and advanced/expert platinum.

Hi daved where do we find the discounted price? Always awkward with not even pigeon hole French to use on a French website. Ha
