I think you should all stop complaining :D Skiers, and golfers etc, get a really good deal with carriage, for example, Easyjet only charge 39.- chf for a pair of skis, even my skis by weight would be 168.- chf as excess baggage. When I try and transport other sporting equipment they charge me by the kilogram and it's 28.- chf per kilogram
You need to consider that a lot of people who use this forum are not experienced skiers, and as such most of the places they consider as destinations are what they see in the brochures, and most of the brochures they look at include Inghams, Crystal, Nielson, or Thompson I would wager.
As such, then yes, its only probably right to assume that "regular resorts" are ones that appear in the brochures.
Ise has already told us all that Ischgl is rubbish, yet if you read WTSS they put it in their top list of places to ski.
Its got nothing to do with places I have been to, although I would regard them as "regular resorts" as well. I am well aware there are many many places I need to visit in my lifetime to ski, but I would imagine they will also all be "regular resorts" as I personally like to have a base, an intricate lift system, and a good choice of ski area to go at.
But yes, each to his own.

Pablo Escobar wrote:Agreed, brucie, in saying that I flew with Jet2 last month no issues at all. I have a 190cm Dakine Fall Line bag and they took it no questions asked! Weighed about 22kg.
Air Canada allow 2 bags up to 23kg each.. just standard allowance. Conclusion: we should all ski Canada 8)

They have only had 2m accumulative snowfall so far this year... apparently. Really good hill, not much to do at night. Get snow dancing.
Banff has just had a load of fresh!
ise, thankfully the only sports I holiday for are skiing and golf
