Forecast has changed 4 times today but the temperatures are consistently forecast to fall low enough for snow making from tomorrow night onwards so fingers crossed. Sportgastein has had a dusting today so they may be in a position to open something this weekend at the top at least.

Everything crossed now.

I spent a week in Thredbo (Australia) in 2013 in a lodge watching it rain. The snow that eventually followed was a season saver but that was a depressing week.

Dorfgastein Update Information 

Due to the current snow conditions and the high temperatures the start into the winter season is shifted until further notice.

On the plus side a piste was being created at SportGastein this morning.

I spent a day in Thredbo in 1990 watching it rain. Next day went to Blue Cow where it had been snowing and had a great day. The following day it snowed in Thredbo and the rest of the trip was fantastic! :)

1 week delay in Gastein if I'm lucky.

End of all hope for anyone arriving next weekend.

Schlossalm & Stubnerkogel 12.12.2014, Sportgastein 13.12.2014.
