Right finally plucked up the courage to reply-Even before logging on I have followed the posts- Since joining I agree with you Ally have gained so much advice. I am with Old Andy in that I can't get enough of like minded people with a passion for skiing - it is like a drug and I get my fix by coming on here many times in a week. There is a hardcore lot of you on here and although I am right out on the fringe as a relatively newbie I am so grateful to you all for always being the heart of J2ski - keep your banter going, you make me laugh so much at times, much better than dipping into a favourite book and sometimes even beats a curry on a Friday night (well, when holiday getting really near). The only trouble is hours can be lost very quickly. But then again it's about skiing so who cares!!It is great to have a place to keep talking and checking about it.Have adored Pavels and Trenchers advice and Cem made my skiing feet bliss this year. Love the J2 ski forum – long may it continue.
There is only one thing I don't agree with, and that is Mr Wickams quote and as you may know I cannot do the quote thing in blue ... so here goes..
.
But above all it is a fantastic place to communicate with like minded people with a passion for the mountains and a great font
Just a constant reminder that nobody has come to my aid. I still have to type in the same small black and white font – What does one have to do to join the inner sanctum around here !!!

Off Topic sections of forums are a mine field. One forum I belong to is a pretty limited group. After several years of over heated OT confrontations, people now think before they post and it's rare for tempers to flare. But that's a group where it's very likely you will meet other members and your own good friends are also members.
J2ski is a different situation. It would be a moderator's nightmare, and the conversation would sometimes be something Dave would not want associated with his business. Allowing a little wibble here and there keeps the place friendly, but manageable. Dave does a great job finding the middle ground. I would imagine the forum is a good source of traffic to the site, so keeping it active is in all our interest.
because I'm so inclined .....

I have to accept full responsibility for introducing the word "wibble" in the first place, but I'm glad it has been embraced and so widely used.
In case anyone doesn't know where it comes from, have a look at BLACKADDER GOES FORTH. The scene near the end where he puts his pants on his head and pencils in his ears and declares himself insane. Wibble.
Every time I used to read Ally G's posts, I had this vision of pants and pencils as above.
Now, I'm just off to Hartlepool to buy some exploding trousers.......

What with dribbling all the time and now pencils in ears and underwear on head (style Ally?) and exploding trousers !!!

I'm not sure I can cope any longer.
Chin up Ally

Whats your name? "Wibble"
Where do you live? "London"
Pardon? "A small village on Mars just outside the capital, Wibble"
Absolute work of genius.

Here it is, yet another thing I have gained from J2Ski:

It's actually quite funny, and very sad of course when you remember how many people did die going 'over the top' including several members of my family.
There also seems to be a wibble site already, registered since 1998 - www.wibble.co.uk - named after the above video.
No wonder Tony didn't like it much when Admin offered him the Wibble King title
I hope Iceman doesn't mind
As for me - well at least the pants on my head will cover up my bald patches
