Is Fred a new member - not seen him posting much

He got barred.

I've learnt a fair bit from this site, and I'd like to think I've given some reasonable advice at times, I've been approached a few times privately about seasonal work which is probably my only area of reasonable knowledge, its good to know that we can all add our tuppence worth about what we know. There can't be one single person on here who knows it all (although some probably think they do)

We have a good mixture of knowledge between us, and yes sometimes people annoyingly ask questions that can be easily found on google, but I think we've all learnt to become tolerant.

Great people too, I've only met a couple, would like to meet more one day. But thanks to you all for your contributions and humour and long may we be able to enjoy learning from each other :)

Was a lurker for ages before struck up confidence to join in. is my opinion or my thoughts on subjects going to be accepted, is the newbie going to be accepted.
Answer is yes, I think you all have been welcoming. If there's any other lurkers out there please join in would be my advice.
There's no such thing as a stupid question but the same question asked again and again can be irritating

Woken up now :D

What have I gained? Well, while working away it has given me somewhere to go and share my love of the sport on the white stuff! I just wish I could do it more than once.

The site also gives me 3 other things

1. The ability to take the p*ss out of the regulars and some of the new peeps - but care must be taken with the latter. I love the banter

2. The opportunity to WIBBLE - my new word of the year :)Every now and then I convince myself that I am not going to wibble, but then I cant help myself when I see the opportunity

3. The best thing I have gained from here this season is some skiing tips - amazing I know  The advice I was given on "skiing dead dead fast" thread about how not to catch the edges was the best advice I have had for a long time. Basic I know, but it really did work

I think putting wibble and 'sarcasm' to one side, people generally know that any question will be answered, however 'daft'

I think Admin should have an Apres Ski part of the site where we can wibble to our hearts content

Much love

Icy :D

I agree, i thought of asking if we could have a 'general chat' board but i am sure that if that was what he wanted it would be there by now.

I gained a wonderfully comfortable pair of replacement ski boot inner sole thingies (is there a technical term?) thanks to some excellent advice from Bandit a couple of years ago :D :D

It would probably need Mr J2skiNews to be admin for just that part and snippy where appropriate!

Thanks everyone, for your contributions to the thread :D

And I don't mind what format you use to express your thoughts on this issue - just no wibbling

I do think it's remarkable that so many of us get so much pleasure from this website, and I think a lot of this is down to Admin chipping away with his axe every now and then to keep us all in order - thanks Admin :D

And on the subject of Wibble - I did think about giving up my Crown at one point, but Admin advised me to keep it. It's nice to know that there is now a Wibble King to join me :D

I do try very hard not to Wibble, but every now and then a small bit of Wibble escapes try as I might to control it :D Sorry everyone

Thanks everyone for tolerating my Wibble and whatever other annoying things are in my posts. Like everyone else here, I'm sure, I try not to be annoying, confrontational, impolite etc. but sometimes I think afterwards I could have expressed myself better or more diplomatically. So, as I said before, this website has helped me to improve my communication skills.

And Bandit, you make a very good point about J2Ski saving you money. Fancy me forgetting something like that

Anyone else got something to say about what they have gained from this website (newbies or regulars)?

Ally
