Hi :)
I have been to Niederau twice now and absolutely loved it. Yes the skiing is limited but Auffach is another area covered by a free ski bus and on the same skipass. I loved the black run in Niederau.
I have seen Herbert playing the harp and he was brilliant. :D
I loved the area and I would go again. The village is nice and the locals are friendly. The mountain huts are not overpriced and :Pand there seemed to be a nice friendly attitude everywhere.
This resort is perfect for beginners and early intermediates or if you want to build up confidence. The pistes where always perfectly groomed when I was there.
DaveMac, you do well there. Wish I was working and living there.

Yep we all have our favourite places to ski, and it depends what you want from your ski holiday........ for me the operative word is ski.
That's a big commitment, MMB!
The point is Dave is that Apres ski plays no part in my ski holiday ..... I can get Pi**ed any day of the week if I so wish...... I'm on holiday to SKI 8)

Interesting view, Ian. Long ago, my ski buddy & I stopped using the term holiday, and termed it "lifestyle". That changed our thinking, and we started doing 6/7weeks a season.
And of course, like you, I love the skiing, and my favourite place allows a huge amount of skiing.

I do recognise that, Ian. It is pretty much how I feel, (most of the time!) You also have Little W to look after. The Bichlwirt is about 50m from where I stay, so after eating, we would head there for a couple of drinks, then head off. Most nights, the Bichl is good for a chat, and a meet up.
When I first went there it was just over 500 years old, so now it must be 600 years old!
I never drink during the ski day, but may have an end of day libation on the mountain. This gives me a last run down an empty mountain. :D

I do think once the lift between Auffach and Alpbach is built next summer that it will make for a pretty good day's skiing.

Apres Ski is all part the fun for me. I don't feel the desire to ski 8 hours a day every day either.....so a beer is fun as well.
