What's happening with the weather, 14 day forecast in the Alps is positively spring like.

I am an optimist I really am but COME ON ! Really? Its nearly December and all is greeny brown still

Any reasurrance is welcome

I reckon it will all kick off at the end of this month. This website will help you choose other activities, if I'm wrong :D

I'd much rather be in Chamonix than Val T If there's no snow. The town centre has much more going on. You can always take a trip up the Aiguille du midi and enjoy the view, drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel or just enjoy the restaurants.

Oh dear....today's update from Solden.

Because of the bad snow conditions in the ski area Sölden (Giggijoch & Gaislachkogl), the opening in friday the 18th of November is NOT possible

The music programme on Saturday 19 November will be held on the Rettenbach Glacier.

It's slightly colder today, but still very mild forecast for the rest of the week. Grrrrrr!

Edited 1 time. Last update at 15-Nov-2011

Forecast is for much colder weather from now.
Freeze/thaw gradually dropping from a very high 2800m now to 1100m this time next week in Tignes.
A little bit of snow floating around as well - but no signs of big dump across the French Alps at the moment.

Early season skiing this season is a definite no no.
December should see the snow come down, but Xmas might even be hit and miss.
Early Jan at best I reckon.
Anyone going early December ought to consider re booking, the temps at the moment are stupid warm for the time of year, and it isnt going to change overnight.
Doom and gloom. We're all going to hell in a handcart. The worlds about to end. Blah blah blah
