Iceman, do you have a "Worry" problem? You can get treatment! Perhaps the following might help.....
ValThorens, January, past 4 years, low/high:

117cm / 165cm ~ This was the "bad" year!

84cm / 119cm

97cm / 153cm

81cm / 161cm

Sleep easy

Ski well

I've heard that the snow lasts longer if the cannons can get down a good layer before the proper stuff falls ,something to do with the structure of the fake snow or I could of just day-dreamed it :)

As you say you have already done a season( so 15-20 weeks?) you could:

Ski all of it switch
Practice your GS turns
Get into skinning up
Take some Snowboarding lessons
Chat to local Freeriders in a bar, they'll know places tucked away from the tourists
Consider skiing the same run more than once

The worry problem is starting to cease now after the wise words. I will be happier when the web cams start looking promising. I will look a bit strange when I shout 'YES...SNOW' in the middle of the office!!

Looks like they have fired up a few snow cannons in Tignes over night.
Some fresh white stuff around the Double M piste that comes back to the resort from the glacier.
Rattrack working on the snow as well!
:-)
