From what I've read, I believe in theory the viruses could mix and mutate in a person. The same is true of lots of viruses I think. At any rate I don't think there would be much volunteering going on. :shock:

Apologies if this has been done but read a page and a half and got annoyed. The word pandemic refers to geographical spread of any given disease/virus and the mode of transition. It has nothing to do with severity, a fact the WHO recognised in the mid term. Nobody except sufferers of respiratary disease should be vaccinated whilst the thing still has low severity. H1N1 (swine or human) has a lower efficacy (in terms of mortality) than than seasonal flu and vaccinating through summer with our only known line of defense is risk management at it's worst. I don't condone pig cold parties or the like, but let the general population contract the bloody thing and build some natural immunity whilst the severity is low, because we are all in bastard trouble if it mutates on a Prematurely immunized population.

This is just about the most common sense view that I have seen expressed about the Swine Flu thing. As I see it, there has been only one fatality in the UK, where there were no underlying health reasons.

As a rough calculation, in the same time period, another 570 people have died in road accidents.

What ever happens, I'm still goin' skiing.

Tino, I would be delighted. Only ever skiied with one sh*t-hot boarder before, (in 3V), and he almost wiped me out on the first turn. (Yeah, yeah, I know you don't do the turns thing, but turning's the only thing that gives skiers Styyyyle.) Without either of us saying anything, we then took turn about to lead down the run sections.
