Hi,
I am flying in and out of Geneva next week for the weekend 28 Nov - 2 Dec, so should get in 3 days skiing.
Does anyone know what resorts (France or Switz) have the best snow @ the mo, within easy reach (a few hours) of Geneva, and how to get there by public transport would be really helpful.
I am red run competent, but I think it is time I tried a black. Travelling with two people who have only skiied once though.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks.
S.

for public transport you could try this service The Coach Station of Geneva

A friend of mine used this very successfully last year. They offer a bus service into lots of resorts and the collection from the airport is just outside the customs/arrivals area. Level -1.

Hi
Les Masses/Les Collons/Thyon 2000 are all great resorts you can get a train to Sion then a bus or taxi to the resorts up the mountain. This is part of the 4 valleys system which includes Verbier, you can sk there from these resorts in about 1 hour.
Have a look at http://www.chalet-chasseur.co.uk/
If you have any questions about the area please don't hesitate to contact me via our site

Good idea, there's a train all the way from the airport to the town of Zermatt itself, the Swiss Transfer ticket is very cheap. The Zermatt tourist office have an online booking system which is easy to use as well.
Zermatt ought to be on everyone's "must ski" list. The only drawback is that a weekend's not long enough :D

badly written
It's basically 52 quid a ticket and that's a round trip from the point of entry to the resort. A better writeup here http://www.swisstravelsystem.com/produkttexte.php?passid=3
Bandit would know more, obviously we don't use them we've half price and GA's anyway. It's especially good for Zermatt as it's train all the way. Timetables at http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm
