When Stewart proudly showed us his new helmet (oo er) at Gatwick, I went: "Ring ding ding ding ding......" which kind of stuck for the week, and that picture on our final day at La Grotte was just perfect.
Although Stewart did think he looked more like a Nazi storm trooper to be fair.

Tony,
No, I had no idea what/who the Crazy Frog was until I asked my daughter just now. Apparently it has something to do with ring tones and ads on the telly. I never watch telly ads. For me they are an opportunity to do ski exercises or whatever. Thank you for explaining things.

Anyway, I think Stewart is right and he looks more like a Stormtrooper (at least I know what that is) than a Crazy Frog.

30% is quite a low figure for helmet wearing compared with what other people have been reporting. Did you do a one off survey report, or were you monitoring the situation throughout the week? And did you use a quadrat?

I think that is absolutly correct all kids should wear a helmet simply because of the " No Fear " attitude that they have, I know that
because of I am constantly being dragged screaming through the snow parks by Little W

I think for kids until they are at least 16 and for adults skiing off-piste helmets should be a must. For off-piste back protection also does a good job.

Today I was skiing with a pal of mine, and he wears a Giro G10. He's a competent, big mountain skier, and has worn a helmet for quite a while.

He was skiing fresh snow within 10 feet of a piste and hit a rock and somersaulted. I stopped and asked if he was okay, and went and retrieved his ski. When we got back to the piste ,I was stunned to see a lump of rock embedded in the front his helmet just about on the hairline. I do have photos, and will upload them when I can.
The rock was very sharp and pointed and he suffered a small head injury at the penetration site, and rather a lot of shock.

Honestly he looked like a Rhino! The helmet is a write off as on close examination it has more dents.
