I've been to Banff twice and I'm going to Fernie in March. I thought Banff was reasonable and I'm hoping Fernie will be too!!!

Am I allowed to say this?

Just got back from Banff on Sunday. I found it to be quite expensive this year particularly the bars and restaurants on Banff Avenue. What you have to be aware of is that everything is subect to 5% tax and then a tip between 15% - 20% is the norm but some people say 10% is acceptable. If you go with Inghams you can buy a discount card for 10 dollars on the bus and this entitles you to 10% - 15% off your food bill at about 20 different eateries. The weather was the mildest i've ever experienced it, it was above freezing by midday most days. The snow was best at Sunshine but Norquay and Lake Louise were in need of some snow as it was icy on the busy runs but the bowls at the back of Lake Louise were skiing well due to direction of the wind blowing in some fresh snow.

Hope this helps.
