We are too. When we were in France last year we cooked dinner together on a few evenings, it was quite nice really, don't get to do that very often at home now my boys are all grown up.

I woke everyone up to a cooked breakfast everyday too, despite being the last one to bed. On the last day they all had excuses for not getting up and not wanting breakfast...I went skiing and met them at lunchtime when they had all made miraculous recoveries. Lightweights!

I suspect that you will be buying a lift ticket though? It's a fact that quite a few northern European resorts have published their intent to not raise ticket prices, Trois Vallees will raise them by 3%.

Not quite sure what kicked off this anti Les Menuires thread, maybe I missed something?
Anyway, we drove through it on the transfer bus and dropped people off there when I took my first ski holiday in 2001. It was no uglier than Val Thorens to be honest, although I imagine there has been development since then. It did however suffer with a serious lack of snow, and everyone from Les M and below were bussed up to VT to get some snow which made pistes quite crowded.
However, its a cheaper base for the 3 valleys than VT or Meribel for example.

Personally, the 3V is not somewhere I intend to go to now or in the near future. However, I hope Snowbandit has a great time, despite the ridiculous prices for food and drink there. Having unslghtly property is hardly going to ruin anyones holiday, is it?

I'd be interested to hear what they are charging per head for the school trip Caron, and what board they are taking. I think you will need to give him about £700 pocket money for a week there.

Even without the 3% rise it's a small fortune, that's why I am cosidering the Holiski option.

travel, acomm, full board with packed lunches, ski hire, lift pass, 4 hours per day ski school (which he's not happy about!), insurance and "entertainment" - £820.
Not cheap but we're determined for him to go and shine at something he's really good at.

My daughter went with her school last Feb. We gave her 100 euros spending as recommended by the school. She spent 15!

Everything was included too, she said what they needed a bit of money for was when they were charged a euro to use the loo.
