Did you purposely pick the soft shell?

Just to throw another manufacturer in the mix, I've been very impressed by Sessions. In the UK they only seem to sell their very trendy gear, but they do have some more conservative jackets in the US. I've worn mine on about ninety of my ski days over two seasons, plus a lot of non ski use. My jackets take a pounding, So far this jacket has had no problems of any kind and is still waterproof. I have some new Sessions pants this season, which seem well made as well.

I have a d2b jacket and it`s great, The kid`s got a quecha jacket each for Christmas and they would have been great if we had been going away.

They're currently offloading a load of their product at about 40% off the original price through born4sports.

Just got one of their jackets from the above. Not yet worn on active service but it looks well made with high quality zips, taped seams and all the technical details that make a functional jacket. Appears to be made by Nevica (famous for assaulting the eyes with their dayglo in the 80s)... at least that's whose name is on the box it came in!

I'll be testing it next week... 8)

P.S. I added the 'to' to the end of the question as Tony_H reckons it's propper West Country!

I have owned had a Cross jacket which was also very good, and now use North Face, Dare2be, and Bailo. The D2B jacket was a steal and is a short cut outer shell, so its great in the warmer weather, as is the North Face one. I tend to find I prefer thinner outer layer (waterproof) jackets and to layer up underneath.

I noticed a lot of people this season seem to be thinking this way too, and a lot of skiers were wearing less insulated jackets, and there were far more climbing style jackets on show, such as Arc'Teryx and Haglofs - very nice gear indeed if you can afford it!

Lots of Kjus, Killy and Eider on show in Serre Che as well, which are also pricey but appear very nicely styled and well made.

I have a Nface wind stoper which I wore on sunday, far too hot I guess I have anough padding but i really don't buy in to the whole fashion thing, a complete money making exercise which many people fall into, over the years i have worn HH, Nf, Nevica, columbia and they have all been good not much to pick between them as long as they do the job keep me dry and warm it all comes down to a bargain
