Hi

I have just returned from Austria where I had decided to buy all 3 kids their own helmets this year. All posters here are right, try and buy the most comfortable one. All 3 kids ended up with a different brand with prices ranging from 40 to 160 Euro as they all fit differently. The top end one I bought should last a few years though as it has all the adjustments etc and hopefully I can hand it down to the other two and get my moneys worth!! My daughter is also a good skiier and a bit gung ho so thought I should get her something which looks good but is very safe. I think it was a Smith and the other two were Uvex
mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!

It's the first thing I brought for Little W, didn't quite like the idea of all those other heads in a hired helmet
sorry I should have mentioned I think I paid 20quid for it and it has so far lasted her three holidays, so quids in

All those other heads was not the main thought on my mind, safety being first but yes it was the second, all those nits :-o

I live in Abu Dhabi and no hope of buying a selection of helmets here so had to get them in the resort which happened to be Kitzbuhel for the day to have some boots fitted at Daleboot before heading to Jan's place in Niederau. I was only in Kitzbuhel for the day and glad I did buy them as Niederau was just about sold out with the changes to the Austrian laws I suppose. paid too much for the helmets but was more concerned with getiing on the slopes than shopping and as I said we do not have any ski shops here except for Ski Dubai and that is more expensive again. Maybe I should buy obnline and have them sent to one of you guys to forward on to me

Yes I agree safety should be first and is as far as I am concerned, If I could help in any way with your internet purchasing I would be more than happy to do so, they do spray the helmets on return, I'm guessing that has something to do with "Nits"

Thanks for that Ian, might take you up on it next year as a lot of skiwear etc places I contact online will not deliver to Abu Dhabi. I really do not like wasting a full day of my ski holiday kitting out the kids with new thermals, gloves etc. They hate it too
