There were loads of them last weekend at my local down by the river. Are they invading, or is it caterpillas breeding season?

high: yesterday I was on the beach and ate the best gambas pil pil I've had in my life.

low: I'm now back in "sunny" england and can't even bring myself to unpack (ying yang bandit?)

low: I'm back on my home computer and have no smilies.

surreal: my eldest starts at senior school on tuesday. He's now got a laptop, mobile phone and front door key. It's pretty scarey!

Just wait till your leaving him at home when your off on holiday, telling him not to wake you up when he comes in and that he can't have girls bacl from the pub, that will be surreal.

Well to be honest i was feeling pretty peed off when i started reading this thread,You know head like a shed with the kid`s and school holiday`s.
House being used like the motorway service`s,Not to mention the endless piles of washing.

That is until i read the bit about Tony H`s Mrs friend :( It reminded me that my OH and i are going to a party next wkend, It`s a friend of my OH.
His wife has cancer too and she know`s she wont be around for long, So she`s having a 60th birthday bash for him as a surprise.

All of a sudden my gripe`s with life have vanished and life is a bed of rose`s.Congratulation`s to everyone on their achievement`s, Rose,Geordieski,Dave Mac and all.

This thread has migrated from exciting to grim. But that is life. My ski buddy was first treated for C in early 2001. He never even mentioned it in winter 2000/2001. Since then he has undergone two years of major treatments.

But every winter, he and I have hit the slopes at Niederau, and he is still as competitive as ever, both fast and stylish. He is a constant source of ski stories, mostly, as I frequently remind him, occured when I was still at college. His only complaint is that he can't compete in bike races as used to do!

And in a way, isn't it exciting to have a ski buddy that is so optimistic about his life? It puts a dodgy knee into perspective.
