I forgot to ask you about the HariKiri run (if that's the name!)
Where is it and how scarey?
On my last trip I went to Kitzbuhel for the day and did the Hahnenkamm run which I found pretty hairy.
When the racing has passed that course sure is bumpy.
Still I was pretty stoked that I got down it in one piece for an intermediate skier anyway. 8)

I dont think it compares to world cup runs, inasmuch as I have ski'd the Banchetta in Sestriere, but I dont find the HK an attraction to be honest.

It's fairly short tho. dont do it when sheet ice tho!!
Tony_H... you have been to MH something like 7 trillion times and not at least done the HK !! lol. Surely there wasn't an air ambulance there EVERY TIME... You have mentioned fresh snow at MH loads of times, so you should have done it by now.
Maybe this year you will pluck up th courage )
your other post mentions handling the terrain..... maye you cant!!

It's reckoned to be 78 degrees or something, which I find very difficult to believe.
In fact I just don't believe it. Maybe 55 degrees at the steepest parts, and the section you can join two thirds down is barely red-run steep. Its also pretty wide.

It's not reckoned to 78 degrees, that's just silly. It's not even 55 degrees which is also silly.

Theres some info on the Harakiri part of the web site stating 78 degrees.
I didn't make it up Ise, I just repeated what is reckoned to be the case.
You can see that I totally disagree with it though. It just aint THAT steep.

It's not 78 degrees, pause, take a second and think about it. No one (who can count) says it's 78 degrees either.
