That's a very poor effort at provocation.

Talk to me when you've been.

calm down calm down.

Thanks for all your views on strudelville, been a real help.

As i said we are going to fly into Turin in January, the family is pretty thrilled as we normally ski in france and are looking for change but i am not so sure.
Looking at the map of resorts i see there are a few french places just over the line: Montegenvre and Serre Chavalier (spelling?).
Anyone been here much?
Montgenevre looks pretty good with links to Italy but SC looks a bit naff. And thats france! I say naff coz there are villages spread out and i read online that the runs are dead easy and attract beginners and offer free passes coz they know its pants. I dont want 2 go to crap places coz the group wouldn't forgive me.....yep its group! My mates wanna go to., not sure how the mrs will go for that, but they have nippers too so its all gravy. How the hell did i find myself sorting out a group, im screwed.

There are positives and negatives about all resorts and ski areas. Grouping them by country is far too simplistic.
Size of ski area, altitude, direction the slopes face, efficiency of list system, snow record etc is all far more relevant than which country it happens to be in.
While there are some general characteristics which differentiate countries, you will be missing out on some great skiing if you choose your resort just based on those. Look at every resort and ski area with an open mind based on it's merits and you won't go too far wrong.

My word, right again!!!

Serre chevalier, like Austria, is rubbish . Don't go there, it's a terrible place.
Naff, chavvy, pants, dead easy and littered with free lift passes everywhere.

I'm loving these sweeping generalisations lol

How long is the Turin/Serre transfer? Do they drop at Montgenevre on the way?
Been thinking about it with the free passes for March time.
