Don't do it!!!! I was in the same position a few weeks ago when i got dumped....but here i am packing for saturday.......there is always a silver lining
It was a great thread......
While the cats away....... lol......And the cat did start it off did he not?
Love you adders!
NOOO! Don't give up! You WILL ski again this season.
I can only reiterate what Nelly said ... if you love to ski and be in the mountains just bloody well book and go .... I'd be really peee'd if you don't buy me that beer.
Pay the single suppliment and go
Icy - this is a character building exercise for you :D
It could also help you find out whether skiing is a vital part of your life or simply a really enjoyable holiday (neither of these are "right" - just different).
When I was in my 20's I routinely went on my own as friends/family only wanted one hol per year and this just wasn't enough. One thing I did twice was to go to Verbier and join a specialist ski lesson week callled Cours de Godille. Crack of dawn to lifts closing, small group, immense amount of skiing - I just booked a room in a chalet to sleep and eat, too tired for much apres!
I've been on my own a few times in recent years and had some wonderful skiing, after all there are plenty of obsessives going on ski holidays to hook up with or you can enjoy skiing on your own and at your own pace.
What works for me is to find a British run chalet hotel (more people, hence more chance of some good company than a small place), try to find no, or minimal, single room supplement and look for guiding/ski hosting availability.
Then enjoy it!
Job done.
Good luck with your choices.
