I agree with Wickers ...I am seriously thinking of driving to France this year.. for one up the cost is slightly more but it can save tame you have flexibility and you are not treated like some sheep on the way to slaughter...

I wouldn't fly with them. Period. I never have and I never will. There's always an option...don't go. :D

I sort of admire his brass neck though, but from a distance.

I wont fly with them either.

My one and only flight with them a few years ago was delayed 12hours. They didnt pay any compensation / food vouchers as they said the flight was cancelled not delayed and was putting on an extra flight 12 hours later to help their customers out.

Lucky it was a business trip and not a holiday so at least my company paid for food and drink while I waited the 12 long hours.

I boycotted them in 2007 too, firstly because of a nightmare experience but, more importantly, because of the way they treated my handicapped mother in law.

:DHi,

As with some of the other replies, I must count mylf fortunate that all of my ski clobber is out at my apartment so I could get away with just hand luggage or none at all.

Also with the eco nutter ,carbon footprint charges being added driving down to the alps (if two or three travel) ,may start to look like a cheaper option.....I do this now and again, if the driving is shared it can be more convenient, and also extends the trip by a day or so. :D

Ian, if I lived where you live, then I would drive most of the time too, even to Tirol, it is only 9 hours from Calais.

I am fortunate in having a very good Easyjet service Edinburgh to Munich, and then train or carhire to the Alps, two hours. I am usually supping my first Zipfer around 5 hours after check-in.

The Easyjet service has always been good, and the exception of one New Year trip, prices have been good. I rarely pay more than £70/£90 for a flight. Normally one pair of flights each year is financed with Natwest Your points.

Thats great Dave as least you do not use Ryanair, that is at least a step in the right direction

But I am really interested to hear that there are quite a few others who have experienced the dreadful customer service from the dreaded airline, and who are also prepared to stick to their guns and not travel with them, so well done to all concerned, if more people did the same we would see change. 8)

I've never used them as I said but many friends and family members have and I know all I need to know to stay well clear.
