I am afraid thats where far too many people go wrong. Yes, old bones heal slower, but not correcting "minor" injuries or making kids play on with "slight knocks" in football has seen far too many of my mates and their kids as well end up with all sorts of irregularities. We take minor injuries far too lightly, and dont look after our bodies well enough when they need recovery time.

I played Rugby for over 20 years and cant remember going onto a park 100% fit.
I think there was something in the media today about 'cotton wool kids'?!!!

My statement was that children heal quicker than us oldies, which although not being a medical man I think you will find is fact, the decision if fit to ski lays with the child and parent and maybe the doctor who will also advise, I have included my full quote so the abbreviated one can be seen in full context as it was intended.
Kids unlike us oldies heal very quickly, just have a plan b, there always seems plenty of kids clubs that you may be able to get her into if she is in too much pain, have a chat with the local tourist board

How's your daughter this morning? Is her wrist any better?
The only small piece of advice I have, from experience, is that sometimes fractures with young children and teenagers don't show up straight away on an X-ray. So, maybe if there's no improvement you could consider taking her back for another X-ray. I would think they'd put it in a cast then.
I broke my own shoulder about 5 years ago on the dry ski slope, and everyone assured me that it wasn't broken - the first aid guy on the slopes, the triage nurse at the hospital, and the doctor on duty in Casualty (even after he'd seen the X-ray). But I insisted that it was very important that I knew for sure because I was due to go on a ski-ing holiday in 2 weeks and I didn't want to make it worse. Anyway, then they very kindly sent the X-ray up to the consultant who was on duty overnight sleeping in the hospital (it was 8 O'clock in the morning when I went in -but I'd been ski-ing the day before), and he could see the break.
And my daughter broke her arm when she was 7 years old, simply by tripping and falling on the carpet, and her break didn't show up on the X-ray, but the Casualty doctor said that from the clinical appearance of her arm she was sure it was broken. And I should think it was. It took 6 weeks to heal and then she had about 6 weeks of physio on it, and it's been absolutely fine ever since.
I am very grateful to both these doctors that correctly diagnosed our breaks. My shoulder is fine now as well, although it took an awful lot of physio to get it right, after the break healed.
Wishing you and yours all the best,
Ally

I hope your daughter is better this morning.
Just a couple of things I have thought about that you may need to take into consideration.
Have you informed your insurance company of the incident. It may not make a different to the cost of the insurance but if you dont declare and god forbid she hurts it further by falling or something, it could be treat as a pre exsisting condition that you did not declare.
Also I know you say she is a good skiier and doesnt fall over much but if you are going somewhere that has a lot of drag lifts, the constant pull on her wrist to grab them could hurt it further.
I hope you have a great time
Karen
