Nelly, I think Snapzzz is scared stiff

I would do it - in fact I have taken my daughter's friends away on holiday with us although admittedly not on a ski holiday.

But - I would be extra careful about things like making sure they put on sun cream and had fully charged paid up mobiles on them with all emergency numbers. And I think the parents would have to sign something for the airport control people so that Snapzzz could take her out of the country without them.

After a quick search online it seems it would be about £350 to add another child (flights etc) but the true cost would be adding a lift pass and lessons.
Meg already told her she might have to chip in around £500 so she wasn't far wrong.

Our apartment is plenty big enough as i already booked two bedrooms as a treat and we got a good upgrade from crystal. So thats not an issue.
The only concern is food and drink, we all know how expensive it is for a simple hot choc.

Snapzzz,
I'm sure the parents will supply extra money for the girl's food, and if they've got any sense they'll give it to you, rather than her, to look after.

I suggest you carefully add up how much she will cost you for the week and then discuss it with her parents. They may not realize how expensive a ski holiday is.

Good luck :D

Took a mate with the Lout when they were 16 to Cyprus.
Worked well, they provided mutual supprt. I have seen the photos.....
Only issue was money. Thought the boy was spending quite a lot, but he is usually good so didn't complain. Found out afterwards that friend had drastically underestimated cash needed! We were paying for both.
Had a good chat with parents and had all contacts and copy of insurance etc - oh and I kept passport, tickets etc.
I don't see the problem as long as they really are good friends Snapzzz - worse thing would be them falling out.
Can said friend ski?
May cause issues if she is a beginner?
That is assuming it is a girl friend, have you asked, Snapzzz????
Snapzzz Minor is getting to that age when a boyfriend could be very appealing??

It is my 40th next year so am going to go to Botswana on Safari I think - next year will be an expensive one!!

Great thing about my GOAT is that she does not live for beach holidays!!

Botswana - wonderful country, been lucky enough to go a few times.
Favourite of all the African countries I have visited.

She is 12! NO BOYFRIENDS!!! EVER......keeping an eye on her maths teacher too.

Her friend doesn't ski but that doesn't worry me as Megan has already stated she would be happy to slum it in beginners ski school with her friend. To be honest Megan could learn a lot from ski school but she won't attend alone so it could be a good thing. Even though she is starting from scratch.
Most kids progress quickly so i expect after 3 days she will be learning new things, she struggles with parallel.

Thinking about it more it will give us all opportunities to join our own classes at our own ability as neither i nor mrs snapzzz will have to manage Megan. We are all at different levels so it makes ski school very hard as megan wont go alone. We can all school at the same time.

A few years ago my son went skiing with the air cadets so we took a friend for my daughter rather than her come along with us on her own.
As my daughter is a very competent skier they decided to learn to snowboard together.
They were 14 at the time, I had known the friend for years, knew she wouldn't strop or get homesick and my daughter had already been away with her many times.

We worked out how much lessons, hire, passes etc would cost and we charged an amount for food and towards the cost of the travel.
We were upfront about the money and she bought her own drinks and snacks on the slopes.
It worked really well.

It does depend on the child, they do have to be pretty resilient. A ski holiday is knackering at the best of times and if she didnt like being away from home it could be quite stressful.

The only problem we had was the friend getting car sick on the way to the tunnel.
We were driving to Samoens and I visions of a very long journey as she chucked into a bag on the motorway!

Bizarrely it went away once we had made the crossing to France.
