I'd love to ski when its like that. Problem is, theres probably less than 10 days a season when its that good.
I guess English people head up because its the closest place to ski, and many people can drive and feel as if they arent actually paying out to travel.
Not sure what beggars belief though. I havent ever skied Scotland, and yes I can get cheap weeks in Europe. However, when I was planning to go up on business, I looked at the possibility of getting the skis out. Sadly, I was let down, as expected, by a lack of snow.
Its great for the likes of Ross who can get to the slopes when the good stuff is on the ground. I dont see Scotland as a possible destination for a weeks holiday though. Ever.

I have already had 10 days this season in those conditions!
I would not recommend it to anyone to book in advance but a weeks holiday is not out the question.

Similar story for the east as well, next weekend could be a go-er!

Snow also hitting the ground at near-sea level!

If only. It would make perfect sense. Drive up, no sea crossing, not over priced in resort....it has everything potentiallg going for it. But you just dont know with the weather. If for example I had booked a weeks holiday and taken it in Scotland last week, I would be devestated. At least you can find places in the Alps etc to ski this time of year where you know there will be good snow. Thats why I find Scotland so disappointing. I'd love to ski up there however.
