Skied Cairngorm today and although the season is almost over, the upper runs were still OK. The upper Ptarmigan is narrowing but still fine, as is the Ciste Fairway and Ptarmigan Bowl, but the Ciste Bowl is quite narrow at the bottom.

The 105 can be skied until about half way down when you need to hang a left onto the Cas and finish the run at the end of the first Zig Zag. There's about a 200 yard walk to the Mid Station from the end of the piste.

I would be surprised if the Coire Cas runs last more than 3 or 4 days, but the Ciste and Ptarmigan have possibly another week or so before they melt.

The kids skied their first blue run today which was brilliant. Narrow runs with a fair bit of ice but they did me proud! :D

Heard some good news today from Stewart Davidson the accountant at Glenshee ski centre, when I called to see him when I came off the hill. They finished the season with about 43000 skier-days, up by about 4000 on the 39000 total in the previous season, i.e a 10% increase. He said they could have done with a couple of more weeks at the end, which came suddenly with warm weather, much earlier than last year.

I am not completely sure of the figures but I reckon 43k makes for a pretty profitable season.

How do they work out skier days, I always thought there was only 365 days in a year :shock:
