We are having a fantastic time this week in Val D'Isere and Tignes...The Snow Dance has worked to perfection...and more...!

In our party we have a good mixture of strong itermediates and a couple of 3rd week skiers....Sunday was Bluesky but we are now in for a week of Grey skies and powder....LOTS.

What advice would you give for lens tints and good quality goggles as I think they will be very important over the next 4 days...Flat light seems to be the biggest problem and the girls have lost a bit of confidence...

Snowflakes as big as saucers falling at the moment...!

Been watching the webcams - very jealous.

To me goggles are vital and money should not be scrimped on these, far more important than sunglasses IMHO.
I have Oakley with Orange lenses which I find very good in flat and low light.
But ...
I do think it is what works for you.
I would get in the shop and try a load - look out the door to see what tint works for you, you'll get a good sense of the suitability by this. You'll certainly know which ones won't work.
For some reason I don't see very well through grey lenses but my son has grey and they work for him - we have swapped to see what the difference is/was and I was quite surprised.

My personal preference is for Oakley's with Persimmon lenses.

Some folks get on better with Rose pink or Yellow. I read recently that preference for lens colour will depend on your eye colour. No idea if this is true though.

The best bet is to go into a big store and try some on, to see if they make the outside look brighter. Aim for an improved definition and lighter scenery (does that make sense)? The "right" lens will make the outside look as though someone has turned on a spotlight )

Hi guys

I am also going to buy a new pair of goggles when I arrive in Austria this week. I have read a lot about the Smith Anthem goggles for ladies. anyone know about these? the lens tint recommended seemed to be the yellow one for flat light and others recommed the persimmon lens

all ideas appreciated

Still like those ones of Ian Wickhams though 8)

mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!
