ok so as you may or may not know I went to the famous Niederau and was a tad underwhelmed! but anyway thats another story and from this trip i have decided what we want as a family.

So I am looking at next years 2010 ski trip (but dont tell hubby coz he thinks we are going somewhere hot! lol)

So here are my requirements:

Family of 4 (kids aged 9&11), looking for large ski resort with nice cruisy blues or tame reds, somewhere that links to lots of lifts (I have been to skiwelt before and somewhere like this would be ideal), we do not need apres ski in fact we only left the apartment once during this ski trip and that was to go toboganing!, not bothered what country but dont really want to have a long commute from airport to resort, we will be taking the kids out of school so not stuck to school holidays, would like to go somewhere where it is not mega expensive. (wouldnt we all? lol).

I was thinking about maybe the first week in March. Is this a good time? or maybe first week in February? not bothered as long as the resort has good snow resort and is high enough. Is it worth me prebooking it this year for 2010 or should we wait till last minute?

Any info will be greatly recieved and processed.
Karen

Karen, why dont you have a look at Seefeld/Austria. From what you said about N and what you want from a holiday that ticks all the boxs. Theres plenty to do for the kids, 3 ski areas all within walking distance and 20mins transfer from Innsbruck.
I'm a laydee

From experience, Sauze d'Oulx has the sort of runs you crave. Good ski area linked into others, good lifts.

You should consider Cervinia too.

I am told Les Arcs may be perfect also.

I am off to Serre Che sunday so will let you know what its like there.

Hi Karen
I have apartments in Leogang , part of the large Ski Circus with Saalbach and Hinterglemm. Leogang is an ideal family resort and from 14th march ( maybe slightly different next year ) kids get a free ski pass which can be a big saving. There is evening skiing, toboggoning and a weekly show on snow, but no clubs so the resort is a true family resort. We have a sauna, hot tub and Sky TV, plus loads of board games, a childrens play room table tennis table football and pool. So actually you dont need to be lloking for anything to do. If you need any more info please get in touch

Wait until last minute, IMO. It is what I will be doing for next year!

I do that for 2 or my 3 trips, but always like to have one booked up in advance, especially if its a "special" one.
